4.6.11 - Download Omega La La
Hello there,
We have some fantastical news to share with you…
Our new album Omega La La is available for free download right here on our website.
The record doesn't come out officially until June 7th, but we wanted to share it in advance with our friends and fans at no cost for several reasons:
a. We love you. b. We're going to be playing some of these new songs on our US tour this spring and would love it if you already knew them to sing and dance along accordingly. c. The only reason we are able to keep playing music is because you tell your friends about our songs and shows and for that, we owe you. This is our way of returning the favor.
Anyway, we're asking that to download, you help us share it with your friends. We're very excited about Omega La La and we're trying to spread it virally in a new way so thank you in advance for being a part of it! If you would prefer, there are also some really cool pre-order packages where you can purchase the album along with some limited edition art and apparel designed by our front-lady Annakalmia Traver. Pre-orders also include an instant digital download of the record.
We're playing all over the country this Spring, starting tomorrow in the South and can't wait to see you all.
We hope you enjoy Omega La La!

1.18.11 - In The Studio
We are almost done (woo!) recording our new album with producer Eric Broucek. He has engineered, mixed or produced all kinds of cool bands including LCD Soundsystem, Brazilian Girls, Cut Copy, Holy Ghost and !!! (chk chk chk).
Recording has been really great. It is so fun to see our ideas into eternity: invention is required; the creative release is palpable. We spent 5 12-hour days at DFA Record's Plantain Studios tracking rhythm section basics. Plantain has the most insanely mega collection of keyboards and synthesizers we've ever seen! So many vintage and rare beauties. It's too much to describe, but here is a link to their new blog where they feature different synths on a regular basis. It's a really inspiring space right in the pulse of Greenwich Village. Abe and Gunnar who run the place made us feel very welcome, despite our sprawling size. We're feeling great about the sounds we got. Then we headed Eric Broucek's studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Stickydisc, to lay down all the frillies: vocals, horns, layers, sounds. Cozy days, walks to the soup market for lunch, several emotion-laden realizations that we're saying goodbye to these songs in a way (so that the world can say hello).
We're mixing right now. Feeling all of this work come to fruition. Can't wait to share it with you all!
